We specialise in working with children who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, providing patient, understanding coaching that builds confidence, focus, and self-esteem through hands-on learning.

Join us at Different Angle and see how fishing can change the way young people connect with nature and with themselves.

FISHING AND THE DIFFERENCE IT CAN MAKE
Fishing provides a calm, outdoor environment where pupils can relax, focus, and succeed at their own pace. It encourages patience, problem-solving, and observation, while giving every child a sense of achievement with every cast.

For pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, fishing offers something truly special:

-
Calm and focus – The gentle rhythm of casting and waiting helps reduce anxiety and improve concentration.
-
Confidence and self-esteem – Catching a fish, mastering a new skill, or simply spending time outdoors builds pride and belief in their own ability.
-
Emotional regulation – The peaceful setting and structured activity provide space to reflect and manage emotions in a safe, supportive way.
-
Connection and communication – Fishing together encourages conversation, cooperation, and trust, key life skills that extend far beyond the water’s edge.

Every session at Different Angle is designed to nurture confidence, resilience, and a love of nature. Our instructors are patient, understanding, and trained to adapt to each pupil’s individual needs, ensuring that every child feels valued and supported.

Fishing teaches more than technique, it teaches calm, confidence, and care.
